What to Pack

Winnipeg has a cold continental climate with a short, very warm summer and a long, cold winter. Spring/Fall

Early spring can be quite unpredictable in Winnipeg, with daytime temperatures in March and April near or below 10°C with the occasional chance of below freezing temperatures and snow. May brings a noticeable warmup, with daytime temperatures averaging near 19°C.

Autumn is quite mild in WInnipeg. Mid October usually brings the first frost.

What to pack:

• Warm clothing that can be layered during the day
• Light waterproof rain coat
• Warm coat for the evenings

Summer

In the Summer months (June, July, August) Winnipeg experiences warm, sometime wet summers. With high temperatures in the range of 21°C to 26°C.

What to pack:

• Short sleeved shirts & shorts for the daytime
• Light sweaters, and pants for the evening
• Light waterproof rain coat or windbreaker
• Winnipeg is known for mosquitoes in the warm summer months, so cover up in the evening and packing repellent with DEET is a must.

Winter

In the Winter months (December, January, February) Winnipeg experiences cold dry winters, with temperature typically in the range of -10°C to -26°C. Winnipeg normally receives approx. 15 cm of snowfall during the winter months.
